East Africa’s Got Talent, the official regional adaptation of the globally acclaimed America’s Got Talent franchise, held its first and only edition in 2019. As part of the production team, our role as kreative vault was to capture exclusive backstage photography, documenting the authentic behind-the-scenes moments of the judges and hosts.
The show featured an all-star panel: Vanessa Mdee (Tanzania), Jeff Koinange (Kenya), Gaetano Kagwa (Uganda), and Makeda Mahadeo (Rwanda), with celebrated comedian Anne Kansiime as the host.

Covering a high-profile, multi country production meant working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with limited backstage access.
The challenge was to capture intimate, candid moments without disrupting the show’s flow, while also delivering images that matched the global Got Talent brand quality.

Results
We focused on storytelling through photography, blending candid and editorial-style shots to capture the personalities of judges Vanessa Mdee, Jeff Koinange, Gaetano, Makeda, and host Anne Kansiime. By positioning strategically backstage and collaborating closely with the production team, we ensured seamless coverage while preserving the authenticity of unscripted moments.
The final collection of photos added a powerful narrative layer to the show, used across press releases, digital campaigns, and social media to build buzz and connect audiences with the judges beyond the screen. This work elevated behind-the-scenes storytelling and reinforced East Africa’s Got Talent’s brand presence across the region.
